Chase: Chase is the entire program the Light Designer records into the lighting console according to the different cues synchronised on the show

Cues: see Chase as well. Electronic trigger of the specific action to be carried out inside an automated lighting or sound system

DMX: Signals system used for controlling intelligent light fixtures.

Decibel: Unity to measure the waves sound

Fresnel: A particular optical technique close to convex-prism used in Wash Light that allows getting a shorter focal distance for a wide diameter without the weight necessary of classical lens.

Fundamental: See harmonics. It is the main harmonic of a sinusoidal signal

Impedance: In electricity law is the load to the current circulation. In a well known law:

Globo: Filters of different forms mountable in front of the lamps beam use to produce light effects.

Harmonic: Sinusoidal waves that formed any audio signal (in telecommunication as well) on the entire frequency spectrum. The first harmonic is called the fundamental concentrate the major party of the energy. All the other harmonics constituting the signal at higher frequencies are multiples of this fundamental. Any audio signal is a sum of several sinusoids at different frequency going from (basses) to high frequency (acute).

Impedance: In electricity law is the load to the current circulation. In a well known law:
U= Z x I or U = R x I
Where U = tension (in Volt), Z = Impedance (in ohm O) or R = resistance (in ohm O) and I = current (in Ampere)

Limiter: It’s a sub-function of compressors that eliminate the signal distortion in attenuating the gain to 0 dB instead of decreasing it only.

Phase: Time called period during which a sinusoidal signal is repeated.

Parcan: Lamps use for diffuse decorative light that can be changed with gelatine of different colours.

Plot: It’s the lighting program the Light Designer build according to the cues of the show.

RMS: Root Mean Square is an indication on the power maximum (in Watt) a speaker can take.

Scenes: See Cues as well. It is the scenario of the show made of the different states

Tweeter: It is a loudspeaker specifically designed for high frequencies (acute) typically from about 2 KHz to 20 KHz.

Woofer: It is a loudspeaker specifically designed for low frequency (bases) typically from about 40 to 1 KHZ
